Socket Preservation in Dental Implantology

Course Description

This study day will have an interactive session in the morning and will provide a hands on opportunity in the afternoon to practice socket preservation on sheep heads. This day is designed for budding Implantologists who want to learn this technique and for experienced clinicians to master this technique.

Learning Outcomes

  • Dentists will be able to incorporate this elementary & effective method to preserve alveolar bone in their daily practices.
  • Considered as the first step on the ladder for dental implants, GDPs can perform it with ease after extractions.
  • Referring GDPs can be a practical part of the implants management team.
  • Experienced Implantologists can benefit from this technique and can deliver predictable results as demonstrated and explained by the tutor.

Dr Kashif Hafeez has been honoured with Membership and Fellowship from Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland and has been admired with Fellowship from Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. He has completed his post graduate certificate in Medical and Dental education from Oxford Brookes University. He has special interest in Oral Surgery and Dental Implantology and has been practising in the picturesque Cotswold UK. He had been a post graduate Dental Foundation & therapist trainer for Oxford Deanery and due to his passion for quality in education has been appointed as Examiner for Royal College of Surgeons Ireland and Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. He teaches for the M Clindent programme at BPP University UK and lectures internationally on Oral surgery & Dental Implantology. He has been presenting his scientific work & research at international dental conferences and has been conducting dental Implantology courses worldwide. In addition, he serves as an Editorial Board member for Porodental CPD, an Expert and Advisor for General Dental Council UK. Previously he was honoured with the Dentist of the year award by APPS UK.
