This one-day, foundation level course has been designed for dentists who want to develop fundamental skills in implant dentistry. Through interactive lectures and hands on workshops,
delegates will explore the different aspects of both patient assessment and placing and restoring dental implants.
The course will cover where implant dentistry fits in with existing treatment options, how to get the practice ‘implant-ready’, patient suitability and assessment and how to converse with and present treatment options to optimise the patient experience . Delegates will also develop their understanding of surgical placement as well as receiving hands on experience in restoring dental implants. Delegates will have the opportunity to increase their understanding of the different training pathways available within implant dentistry and will develop an appreciation for the next steps towards a fulfilling career within this sector.

Amish graduated with honours from Guys King’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in 2008. In his time there, he received an Oral Biology presentation award and certificates of excellence in Conservative Dentistry and Dental Radiography. Soon after graduating, he acquired the Diploma of Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties from the Royal College of Surgeons (England). He now works primarily in private practice in Amersham, Buckinghamshire. From an early stage in his career, he developed an interest in dental implants. He was taught and mentored in the UK and Germany by some of the most prestigious implantologists from around the world. He has been placing and restoring dental implants for many years and formalised his training by acquiring the coveted Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh). He has mentored dentists embarking on the surgical and restorative aspects of dental implant placement by providing one to one teaching and the opportunity to shadow him during treatments in general practice.
He also has a keen interest in cosmetic dentistry and has completed a one year Advanced Certificate in Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry. He combined his passion for dentistry with his devotion to teaching by becoming a Foundation Dentist (FD) Trainer, a position he held until 2017. He also lectured at FD study days during this time. To assist him with his teaching, he has completed a one year Postgraduate Certificate in Dental Education.
