Course Description

The aim of this session is to provide the participant with an overview of soft tissue augmentation techniques and their predictability. Throughout the day an emphasis will be placed on the application of these techniques and how they can be extended to enhance outcomes of implant treatment. The course will cover the healing processes associated with these techniques along with the indications and contraindications, and take into consideration the use of different materials including the alternative materials used for this purpose alongside the evidence base. The session will also provide the participant with an opportunity of an interactive discussion during hands-on training and will cover various surgical techniques and tips on maximising outcomes.

At the end of this course delegates should understand:

  • The different techniques available for soft tissue augmentation
  • The healing associated with the different techniques
  • The factors that affect treatment outcomes and predictability
  • The different materials and their limitations
  • How these different procedures can be used around dental implants
  • The indications of using soft tissue augmentation

Meet the presenter

Robert Oretti

Robert Oretti

Robert Oretti qualified at Kings College, London in 1987. After working in an orthodontic practice in Colchester for four years he moved to Newbury, Berkshire. Robert Oretti then spent the next 14 years working in a busy private practice where he built a reputation for treating complex cases involving cosmetic, implant and orthodontic treatments. At this time, Robert Oretti also became involved in teaching and mentoring and has taught many dentists on all aspects of cosmetic and dental implant therapies. In 2006, Robert Oretti moved to Pentangle Dental Transformations – a purpose built centre for dentists to send their patients for implant and complex treatments. Robert Oretti now spends his time between treating these referred patients and teaching. Robert Oretti is currently a post graduate tutor for the Thames Valley deanery, a mentor and faculty educator for the ADI (Association of Dental Implantology), a mentor and international speaker for the ITI (International team of Implantologists), a Royal College of Surgeons examiner for the implant diploma (RCS Edin), ) as well as the Membership in Advanced General Dental Surgery (MAGDS Edin) and is the current president of BAAD (British Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry). He presents regularly at scientific meetings and has published several articles on implant therapy.
